Is covering your face a sign of insecurity? 6
Mar 07, 2010 | Face ScarfI suffer from severe Anxiety and Borderline Personality Disorder. I feel more comfortable when I have part of my face covered. Either by having my hood up. Covering half of my face with a bandanna or a scarf. Or having sun-glasses on. Is this insecurity? Part of my Anxiety or what?
Yes, it is part of your anxiety and insecurity. Many people will do this if they are lying, nervous, or afraid. Try talking to a therapist and see if there is any way that you can help your Anxiety Disorder. It’s great that you recognize your behaviors! Good luck!
Is there a fashionable alternative to wearing scarves around your face in very cold weather? 2
Mar 04, 2010 | Face ScarfLike when it gets down below -20C on windy days, I end up wearing a scarf around my face because the frostbite is nasty. My style is very vintage. I wear dresses year-round (with heavy wool stockings and tights in cold weather).
i think your out of luck unless you’re into ski masks, neck warmers, or coats that go up really high
Dry Skin fixes 2
Feb 17, 2010 | Face ScarfHow do you tie a scarf so it covers your face? 2
Feb 11, 2010 | Face ScarfIt’s supposed to blizzard and I don’t want my face to freeze off. I want it to fit over my nose and don’t want it to fall down even in teh wind. I don’t care if it looks fashionable I just want to enjoy the weather lol
oh yeah it’s not for skiing i just thought people here would know
When I see people wearing scarves, they are not tied on. Most of the people place the middle of the scarf over their nose and mouth and then wrap the loose ends around their neck and back under their chin. Then then zip up their coat over the loose ends to keep them from blowing around.
However, this is just a temporary fix as the scarf will quickly collect moisture from your breath and get cold. If you are going to be spending any significant amount of time outdoors, I would suggest a neoprene face mask or some type of balaclava (ski mask).
How to redo knitting the beginning of a scarf? 3
Feb 04, 2010 | Face ScarfI just finished knitting a nice scarf but the beginning is too tight and id like to redo it. if i unravel from the beginning can i just knit those lines back in or will it be facing the wrong direction? I only need to redo about 10 rows.
Thanks!
You can’t undo the first ten rows without undoing all the rows that came after them. That sounds a bit extreme for this type of problem. My best suggestion is to undo the LAST ten rows and knit them tighter or decrease a stitch or two. That way, the two ends of your scarf will match and ‘most everyone will think you did it on purpose. It’ll look fine. It’s all about the fixing, truthfully enough.
When you knit your next item, check on the tension as you go along. Lay the item out on a table and examine it after every 10-15 rows. That way, if you check yourself as you go, you’ll only have a few rows to undo to fix any problem that comes up.
What is a good snowboarding face mask, scarf, bandanna etc.? 7
Feb 01, 2010 | Face ScarfI would like one that doesn’t fog up my goggles.
I use the Air Hole bandannas, As the name suggests it has a hole in it to help prevent your goggles from fogging up. They also have very little cotton in them so they wont freeze up on you.

if there was a super villain called scarf face what whould he do? 2
Dec 18, 2009 | Face Scarf
He would probably be responsible for the outbreaks of the deadly-flu-of-the year, and while people around him cough their lungs out, he would skip around, healthy like a spinach purre, going "Didn’t your mamas teach you to ALWAYS wear your SCARF?!"
What can I do to fix my red, dry, blotchy face during cold weather? 1
Nov 19, 2009 | Face ScarfI usually have oily skin. I don’t have a lot of acne, it is mostly just old red marks with a few zits here and there. I have been using benzoyl peroxide every night and Olay moisturizer with jojoba oil twice a day. I managed to get rid of most of the dryness by starting with the jojoba oil.
But, then fall came and cold weather, and my face dryer than ever and so embarrassing because the marks that I try to cover with tons of makeup get redder and are clearly visible on my face, as if I had never covered them up. Oh, and my makeup is clinique for oily skin, non codmegenic, oil free
I have started putting tons of moisturizer and jojoba oil but that doesn’t seem to work. I also have cut back with the benzoyl peroxide to every two days. I tried to cover my face with a scarf and hat when outside, but I looked totally ridiculous and everyone was staring because no one else covers their face.
My questions are:
1) Why is this happening?
2) What do I do?
3) Will cutting back on benzoyl peroxide allow pimples to form?
Thanks!
Try to put milk compresses on your face, whenever possible .
What colors will match orchid purple North Face Denali Jacket? 2
Nov 14, 2009 | Face ScarfHello,
I bought a North Face Denali Jacket for my daughter for Christmas. I bought the color Orchid Purple/Orchid knight. It is two tone. My question is what colors? (besides orchid purple, itself) will match as far as scarf, hat gloves go? And do the 3 items have to match each other. She has a hat and gloves in brown from last year (north face), but will it match?
Thanks!
Gray, black or cream would be better. The brown would have gone better with a green or blue. As for the matching it depends on your daughters taste. I usually wear black gloves with my black wool coats and add color in with my scarves.
Thought about this question again this morning my 16yr old wears matching gloves, scarf and hat and wears a red coat. Perhaps the matching might be better for your daughter. Do the two of you ever shop together? Maybe she will show you by looking what type of things she prefers.
